ABOUT THE CENTER

Image

The Clinical and Translational Sciences Research Center (CATS) at the University of Arizona exists to support investigative clinical research and help to facilitate clinical research by providing investigators with a specialized facility, personnel and advice. The entire facility is devoted 100% to medical research.

The center opened its doors in January of 2008 and occupies more than 7,000 square feet divided into two spaces. The main space is dedicated to adult populations, and the smaller space is set aside for pediatric populations.

The center is located on the third floor the University of Arizona Health Sciences Building, on the west side of Campbell Avenue near Banner University Medical Center main campus. Their location allows for convenient use of hospital resources including clinical laboratories, radiology, and other clinical departments.

The CATS Research Center team consists of 15 research coordinators, two research nurses, one nurse practitioner and two administrative support staff. Most of the staff are cross-trained with coordinating and lab experience and work closely together to offer expertise and deliver the best clinical research support to the Health Sciences research community.
