Provides the translational science workforce an opportunity to develop skills that advance their ability to support research. The program comprises online and face-to-face flexible course offerings to help research teams obtain the skills they need.
biotech Pilot Program
Provides a rigorous and competitive application process to support data generation sufficient to establish competitive new and essential CTS programs. The Pilot Program responsibly allocates grant money, facilitates the careers of junior and transitional faculty, and optimizes return on investment.

- SW CACTI Pilot RFAs released after June 2024 will be reviewed using “translational science” criterion. We encourage prospective investigators to learn about the distinction between “translational science” and “translational research” in advance of future funding opportunities.
- Will exemplify the SW CACTI mission of developing clinical and translational science, to promote and support the “bench to bedside to community and practice and back.”
- Utilize the SW CACTI infrastructure to produce preliminary data for competitive NIH grant proposals in clinical and translational science.
- Be of high methodological quality and must demonstrate feasible and generalizable solutions to translational science problems.
- Promote the integration of all populations in translational science across the human lifespan.
